His practice is focused on serious and complex personal injury and wrongful death cases involving catastrophic burn injuries from a multitude of causes, including propane and natural gas fires and explosions, electricity, hot liquids and steam, and chemicals. He will also be involved in lawsuits representing individual victims and families harmed by hazardous consumer products, occupational accidents, premises injuries, automobile accident and other incidents involving negligence.
Slaughter holds membership with the South Carolina Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Lexington County Bar Association. Slaughter is also involved with the American Association for Justice and the South Carolina Association for Justice.
Prior to joining Walker & Morgan, Slaughter worked as a law clerk with Baker, Ravenel & Bender in Columbia, South Carolina. His focus was in the areas of insurance coverage, insurance defense, products liability, premises liability and family law. Slaughter has also served as a congressional intern in the Office of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham in Washington, D.C. researching policy and drafting position papers.
Slaughter graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2009 and received his license to practice law in November 2009. He served as a member of the Student Bar Association, Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and the Palmetto Law Society. Slaughter grew up in Rock Hill, South Carolina and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina in 2006. He holds a double major in political science and criminal justice.
