Attorney Morgan Named President
At the annual meeting of the South Carolina Association for Justice (formerly the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association) Kirk Morgan was elected President of the Association. The South Carolina Association for Justice seeks justice for the most deserving members of society against those who put profits over people’s rights and safety.

"Lexington Attorney S. Kirk Morgan, Jr. of the firm Walker and Morgan has been named President of the South Carolina Association for Justice, formerly the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association. He will serve a one-year term from 2009-2010.
Other officers include Richard J. Foster, President Emeritus; Mark C. Joyce, President-Elect; S. Randall Hood, Vice President; Matthew T. Richardson, Treasurer; Rodney C. Jernigan, Jr., Secretary; Anthony L. Harbin, Editor; and J. P. Strom, Jr., Immediate Past President.
The South Carolina Association for Justice (SCAJ) was founded more than 40 years ago by a small group of trial lawyers as a group concerned about protecting the rights of the claimants and the public. SCAJ has grown into a statewide organization with more than 1,300 members with the motto, 'Keeping South Carolina Families Safe.' In addition to protecting the families of South Carolina, the SCAJ serves as a valuable resource to its members, providing continuing legal education to update their skills and keep them abreast of changes in the law.
Morgan received his B.A. degree from the University of Mississippi in 1980 and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1983. He has extensive trial experience trial experience in various areas of litigation with primary focus of burn trauma, defective products, complex insurance matters, and automobile accident and injury claims. He is Board certified in the field of civil litigation by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is a frequent guest lecturer to various legal organizations around the country.
Morgan is a member of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association, the John Belton O'Neal Inn of Court, past president of the Lexington Bar Association, and present-elect of the Melvin Belli Society. He is licensed to practice law in South Carolina and Texas, and is a member of the United States District Court Bar.
